RULES:
Drivers Rules:

    1. Participants must be sixteen years of age or older. Anyone under nineteen years of age must have a notarized minor release.
    2. Any drivers or pitman drinking before the derby starts, while the derby is in progress, or is intoxicated, will be disqualified and asked to leave. Violation of the rule by either the driver or any pit crew will also disqualify the car.
    3. All drivers must wear a safety helmet.

Car Rules:
    1. Any year of car or station wagon except convertibles may be used.
    2. Safety belts are required.
    3. All inside door panels, headliners, all carpeting, and the rear seat must be removed.
    4. All glass must be removed from the car, including headlights, taillights, back-up lights turn  signals, mirrors, windshield, side and rear windows, etc.
    5. Original stock gas tanks must be removed or have several holes punched in it. A gas tank must be placed in the rear seat area and securely fastened down. A maximum of 6 gallons of gas will be allowed.
    6. Any car spilling gas or catching on fire will be automatically disqualified.
    7. Radiators must be in original location if used. Stock type radiators only.
    8. Transmission coolers and electric fuel pumps will be allowed.
    9. Batteries must be removed from original location and securely fastened to the front floorboard. No more than 2  batteries will be permitted and all batteries must be covered.
    10. Engine exhaust pipes may be modified.
    11. Cutting fenders and bumpers for wheel clearance is permitted.
    12. Fenders cut for wheel clearance may be bolted or welded back together, without the use of extra metal.
    13. All decorative chrome must be removed including door handles, door locks, mounting screw clips, license plates, etc.
    14. All exterior fiber glass must be removed.
    15. Hoods must have a hole cut near the carburetor large enough to extinguish a fire. Cut out section may be re-welded or bolted.
    16. Engine and transmission may be chained or welded in place. May weld frame seams or body to frame with no additional iron added.
    17. No alterations of suspension. If car has air shocks, all lines must be cut and air released. May weld strap from bumper to body no more than 1/4 inch thick or 4 inches wide.
    18. All doors, truck lids, or end-gates must be chained or welded shut.
    19. Hoods can be chained or bolted (no larger than 5/8" bolts of 1/2" chain single looped). Maximum of 4 bolts or chains. Hood bolts must not be attached to the frame or bumper.
    20. The drivers door must be reinforced. Reinforcement may be on the outside or inside or both, and may not extend more than 10" on either side of the door.
    21. The drivers door must be painted a contrasting color.
    22. A number must be painted on both front doors.
    23. All cars must have working brakes before their heat begins.
    24. Read end gears may be locked or welded.
    25. No studded tires, or tire chains. Wheel weights must be removed.
    26. All trailer hitches must be removed.
    27. Air conditioning units left on any car must be discharged.
    28. Body mount bolts may be replaced with original OEM size bolts.
   
General Rules:
    1. No walkie-talkie or inter-phone systems are permitted in the cars or any type of profanities written on the car.
    2. Each car has 3 minutes to make an AGGRESSIVE hit on another car. Being hit by another car DOES NOT renew your 3 minutes.
    3. Anyone hitting a drivers door will be disqualified at the discretion of the judges.
    4. Anyone sitting on the fence will be disqualified. ANY DAMAGES done to the fence will be fixed with prize money.
    5. Only 2 pit men will be allowed per car.
    6. One pit man with each car must be a judge, but will not be judging any heat in which he has a car running.
