BIG HORN COUNTY FARM BUREAU LIVESTOCK JUDGING CONTEST

DIVISION 5 - 4-H, FFA, OPEN CLASS
Contest will be held on Friday, August 1, 2008 beginning at 2:00 p.m. The contest will include eight classes of livestock, with three classes including presentation of oral reasons. Oral reasons will begin directly following placing of all eight classes.
Class officials will be determined by a designated committee. Selected committee members will score oral reasons. Each class and each set of reasons will be worth 50 points, for a total of 550 contest points.
There will be no discussion among contestants during the placing or reasons sessions of the contest. Discussion will result in disqualification from the contest, without warning given. The individuals contestant number will simply be reported to the tabulations committee for omission from scoring. Group leaders, committee members, Fair Board members, and other Fair officials have eligible authority to determine a contestant disqualified.
Contestants may judge as a proclaimed, four person team, or compete individually. Team members must be designated at the time of entry. Registration will be open 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 3, 2008 at the Fair Office, however, early registration (prior to Friday, August 30th is encouraged and may be done via internet or mailed to Big Horn County Fair, P.O. Box 709, Basin, WY, 82410.
High Individual and High Team awards will be given separately for 4-H, FFA, and Open Class Adult divisions. Awards will be presented at the Jr. Livestock Sale on Saturday, August 2, 2008.
